Diverse Yerevan

Today we wandered through Yerevan's streets, Our attention drawn, not to ancient feats, Not on old structures or mountains so high, But on everything around, ahead and behind.
Here are signs in a language so strange, Inside what awaits? A bank, a shop, a range? Familiar words, usual letters are few, Like runes to decode, a mystery to pursue.

Here's a special spot for dogs, you see, And the rest is for these creatures, free. They lie in the sun, in a ball asleep, Frolic, run around, on benches they leap.
And most importantly, the dogs are large, They approach, sniff, and gaze at us in charge. Though they're harmless, our fear is clear, Up high we seek to climb, away from here.

Armenians clutch backgammon with a hand, Gathered in groups, sitting, it's grand. Playing with great interest, their focus tight, Thinking through each move with all their might.
In the city, buildings soar up and spread wide, From house to house they connect, on roofs worlds reside, Balconies transform to rooms, garages from voids arise, Now serving as storerooms, where bustling trade lies.

In this town, laundry's aired in the street, Ropes stretch across yards, a common meet, All that's damp outside does hang, Such a custom here, with an old-time twang.
We saw Yerevan in many a hue, Hoping it was interesting to you!
