Animal Garden

There is an interesting park in the city of Hanover. Wild animals roam freely in the 112-hectare fenced area.

Visitors to the park can not only observe the life of artiodactyls from afar, but also meet them on a common trail.

Red deer graze in the clearings. Foxes, badgers, hares and squirrels live in the wooded area. Bats hide in the cracks of the trees. The park is filled with the polyphonic sounds of the bird kingdom!

Wild boars live in an extensive aviary. Large and small members of the family actively move through moistened soil from resting places to a small pond in the middle.

The history of the Tiergarten began in the 17th century, when part of the forest was fenced and used as a hunting ground by Duke Johann Friedrich.

Currently, the park is open to the public all year round, but only during daylight hours. On weekends, there are especially many couples and families with children walking here.

Certain rules must be observed on the territory of the park. You can not enter with dogs and ride bicycles, feed wild animals and move off the trails, as well as take horns with you!

In the cold season, the animals are fed with pre-prepared supplies. Hay, acorns and chestnuts serve as an additional source of energy.

Children also help to collect nuts. The main condition for collecting is outside the park. And the annual children’s festival Tiergartenfest completes the harvest reception!

It’s a wonderful place to walk, isn’t it?
