Swan Lake

In the center of Yerevan, at the intersection of the main streets, there is a decorative water feature – a small model of Lake Sevan. Named after Tchaikovsky’s eponymous work, the lake is located not far from the Opera and Ballet Theater. Swans, both white and black, used to inhabit this place.

On the shore of the lake, there is an unusual monument to the composer Arno Babajanyan, featuring huge hands raised above the piano and outstanding profile, polished by thousands of touches.

In the summer, refreshing watermelon and beer festivals are held in the waterfront area, along with the very refreshing Vardavar water festival. In the autumn, there’s a tasting of aromatic tea and coffee, and in the winter, a part of the lake is used as an ice rink.
