Mysterious Kentron
Kentron is the central district of Yerevan, one of the oldest cities in the world.
During the construction of Yerevan, volcanic tuff stone was used, featuring various shades of white, cream, and pink, earning the capital of Armenia the nickname ‘Pink City.’ The abundance of parks and squares, numerous sculptures, and monuments create a unique architectural appearance of Yerevan. Here are some of the city’s landmarks: the Government of Armenia building with its prominent clock tower, the Opera House, the Blue Mosque, the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, and the monumental Cascade.
